I am Kelly Wegel, a recent graduate from the University of Georgia in Athens, Ga. with two degrees in Spanish and magazines with an emphasis in photojournalism. I currently a freelance for the Athens Banner-Herald newspaper in Athens, Ga. I recently returned from Buenos Aires, Argentina, where I studied Spanish for three months. In spring of 2008, I took a six-month hiatus from school to be a photojournalism intern at the Chattanooga Times Free Press in Chattanooga, Tennessee. From August to December 2007 I was the photo editor of The Red & Black, the daily independent newspaper serving the University of Georgia community.
My daily goal: to tell stories through visual media. My ultimate goal: to make the world a better place, one story at a time.
