Sierra de la Ventana Camping!

I am leaving tonight for Sierra de la Ventana to go camping! For the first time. Ever. Take a minute and Google it; it looks so beautiful. Here are some photos. But a little cold. The lowest it will probably get is 35 Fah. and the high is mid to high 60s.

I am going with two Americans in my student group. The plan is to leave tonight (Thurs) by bus, arrive early tomorrow morning, camp Friday and Saturday nights, then return by bus Sunday night, arrive in BA (Buenos Aires, but it’s more fun to say BA) early Monday in time for Literature class. Hiking, fishing, enjoying nature…relatively new additions to my repertoire. But I am bringing my camera, so that will, of course, be the highlight.

Here is a part of the map of Argentina that includes the province of Buenos Aires. I have taken the liberty of circling the general area where we will be….yeah I obviously have no idea. An adventure in ignorance!

Things that happened to me

I stepped in a puddle in the rain yesterday. I spilled empanada filling down the front of my new Nike jacket that I got from the awesome Nike outlet in Gatlinburg (it kinda came out when I washed it, but not all the way). A guy on the street grabbed my booty when we passed each other. I went running in a park and a group of guys cat-called at me and I think I heard the words “linda” and “minon” which mean cute and hot woman, respectively, so at least they were yelling nice things. We watched a really old movie in my cine class called La Casa de Angel and the cinematography is AMAZING. I read a bunch of poems for my Lat American Lit class and understood maybe half of them.
